ABOUT HYPERCUBE:

Hypercube Scientific started in 2018, after Tom Hanna left his job and his past employers just kept right on calling him. From there, we have grown to a team of 13 scientists around Australia, serving clients around the world.

We have never lost our scientific roots and remain an ideal first port of call for postgraduate-qualified scientists looking to start or build their industrial careers.

DIRECTOR

DR TOM HANNA

Dr Tom Hanna is the director of Hypercube Scientific. A physicist by training, he has worked in industry since 2011 and is recognised as an expert in supply chain simulation, advanced analytics and data-driven decision support. He has given several invited talks at industry events and regularly hosts interns as part of his passion for building links between industry and academia. Tom completed a DPhil at Oxford University in 2008 as a John Monash scholar and was a postdoctoral fellow at the Joint Quantum Institute (NIST and the University of Maryland) before returning to Australia. He has published 12 peer reviewed journal articles and 2 book chapters.

Tom started Hypercube Scientific Consulting as a vehicle for his passion for turning scientific analysis into business value. Before Hypercube, he held technical leadership roles at Suncorp Group and Fortescue Metals Group.

LINDSAY WINKLER

An enthusiastic, creative and personable developer with two decades’ experience across the full spectrum of software, and a wide range of contexts, from hard science to high traffic consumer applications. Embraces novel challenges with curiosity, tenacity, openness and pragmatism. Loves being immersed in complex environments, and supporting others in finding paths to solutions, whether the desired solutions are optimal, satisficing or simply adequate to eliminate some impediment in the moment.

AMIT SETT

Amit is a data science professional with over five years of experience. He’s passionate about solving problems using mathematics and science and has a strong focus on delivering solutions that meet the end user’s needs. He possesses a broad skill set that allows him to function as a highly capable and adaptable team member and adopts a results-oriented mindset when tackling any challenge. He also is a strong believer in promoting positive workplace culture and supporting others.

SENIOR ANALYST AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

ZSOFIA DOBOS

Zsofia Dobos graduated from the University of Oxford with a Master’s Degree in Water Science, Policy and Management. She has worked in hydrology and engineering in the UK, US and Australia. Zsofi brings her creative problem-solving skills to the Hypercube team, and looks after business development.

OPTIMISATION SPECIALIST

DR XINGLONG LU

Xinglong is a control engineer and data scientist with a PhD in control theory. He has extensive experience in system modelling, control design, mathematical optimisation and machine learning. He is passionate about implementing state-of-the-art techniques from the fields of mathematics, statistics, control theory, operations research and software development to help businesses identify opportunities to increase efficiency and robustness of their supply chains.

SCIENTIFIC DEVELOPER

DR RYAN PARKER

Ryan completed his B.Sc. and M.Sc. at the University of Melbourne studying quantum physics, applied to the emerging technologies of quantum computing and communication. With a broad background in quantum algorithms, numerical simulations, machine learning and AI, and data visualisation, Ryan has developed these skills over various projects as a physicist, software developer and automation engineer, and as an assurance analyst. With a passion for developing robust models that can provide analytical insights to real-world problems, Ryan sits on the development team to bring this expertise to our client’s diverse applications and needs.

HENRY VU

Henry brings with him a background in physics and engineering, with a specialty in analytical modelling and simulation. With close to a decade of experience in academic research, he carries a data-driven and collaborative mindset to solving technical and operational challenges, particularly in the mining and energy sectors.

DR ANDRÉ ALMEIDA

Versatile acoustics professional with a proven track record in advanced data science and computational skills. Leveraging a background in Physics, a PhD in acoustics and extensive research experience, André brings robust expertise in machine learning, signal processing, and statistical analysis applied to complex datasets. Proficient in Python, Julia and Matlab, with a strong background in designing multi-level data analysis solutions. Published researcher with experience presenting at international conferences. Multilingual and adaptable, André excels at translating technical challenges into data-driven insights across interdisciplinary domains.

Aniko obtained her degree of Master of Sciences in Applied Management at Middlesex University and at University of Pecs in 2008. Aniko's diverse background equips her with the skills necessary to handle various administrative responsibilities competently and contribute effectively to the organization.

DR NUWAN MUNASINGHE

Nuwan is a Scientific Developer with a PhD in robotics and IoT. He has experience developing software solutions for industrial robotics applications, mainly in the mining and manufacturing industry. He has worked in industry as a software engineer and co-founded an EdTech start-up. He is passionate about solving industrial problems using science and engineering.
