Dr Tom Hanna

 

Director

Dr Tom Hanna is the director of Hypercube Scientific. A physicist by training, he has worked in industry since 2011 and is recognised as an expert in supply chain simulation, advanced analytics and data-driven decision support. He has given several invited talks at industry events and regularly hosts interns as part of his passion for building links between industry and academia. Tom completed a DPhil at Oxford University in 2008 as a John Monash scholar and was a postdoctoral fellow at the Joint Quantum Institute (NIST and the University of Maryland) before returning to Australia. He has published 12 peer reviewed journal articles and 2 book chapters.

Tom started Hypercube Scientific Consulting as a vehicle for his passion for turning scientific analysis into business value. Before Hypercube, he held technical leadership roles at Suncorp Group and Fortescue Metals Group.

Dr Andrew Wood

Simulation Specialist

An experienced experimentalist, simulation modeller and scientific consultant, Andrew has recently completed his PhD in experimental quantum optics. In his time at Hypercube Scientific Andrew has been central to the understanding and development of supply chain optimisation models, building simulation analysis tools and ongoing management of simulation models and tools.

Dr Akila Seneviratne

Simulation and Optimisation Specialist

Akila completed her PhD in sparse statistical signal processing at the University of New South Wales. Since 2016 she has been involved in machine learning/data analysis roles in medical research. She has the ability to quickly understand and formulate underlying algorithmic problems, research, rapidly prototype and implement solutions. Akila is enthusiastic about applying her knowledge and experience to real-world problems and provide data driven/actionable solutions to clients.

Amit is a data science professional with over five years of experience. Zsofia Dobos

Senior Analyst and Business Development

Zsofia Dobos graduated from the University of Oxford with a Master’s Degree in Water Science, Policy and Management. She has worked in hydrology and engineering in the UK, US, and Australia. Zsofi brings her creative problem-solving skills to the Hypercube Team, and looks after business development.

Dr Xinglong Lu

Optimisation Specialist

Xinglong is a control engineer and data scientist with a PhD in control theory. He has extensive experience in system modelling, control design, mathematical optimisation, and machine learning. He is passionate about implementing state-of-the-art techniques from the fields of mathematics, statistics, control theory, operations research, and software development to help businesses identify opportunities to increase efficiency and robustness of their supply chains.

Ryan completed his B.Sc. & M.Sc. at the University of Melbourne studying quantum physics, applied to the emerging technologies of quantum computing and communication. With a broad background in quantum algorithms, numerical simulations, machine learning & AI, and data visualisation, Ryan has developed these skills over various projects as a physicist, software developer & automation engineer and as an assurance analyst. With a passion for developing robust models that can provide analytical insights to real-world problems, Ryan sits on the development team to bring this expertise to our client’s diverse applications and needs.

Quin graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2022 with his Master of Science (Physics), specialising in electron spin resonance pulse optimisation for applications to quantum computing. He has recently joined the team at Hypercube, applying his scientific programming skills and understanding of physical systems to the intricate problem of supply chain modelling.
